This is my first post, hope you guys can relate.

I recently started talking to this girl who is back home for a month or so, and I'm trying to be friendly and we've had a few plans to go out.

So, we have Valentines Day. Yeah, she fucked that up. We had plans for a sunset hike/picnic. I had that shit set out just for a romantic evening, and she texts me 5 minutes after sunset saying "Omg so sorry was out shopping with my sisters all day!" Yeah. She ended up coming over, we cuddled and watched a movie, nothing more because surprise she's on her period. And I don't expect sex from her, so that's ok. Obviously just icing on the cake for a guy trying to get romantic.

For some reason I didn't think the flaking was going to be a one time thing. Well up until tonight we've had plans to go on a date tomorrow, but yeah, she just texted me five minutes ago saying she wanted to stay home and "help around the house" instead. She said sorry, but that's it. She didn't mention how fucked it up was to not only bail on our V-Day shit, now she feels just can just bail out whenever. I've read it here before, I have lost my value to her by letting her think her time is more valuable than mine, and now she feels like it's ok to do that kind of shit. Basically:

If they don't respect you enough to stay true to their word, how do you think that is going to bleed into the rest of their personality?

PS. I've known this girl for about 7 years, so I know what she's like and that she's doing exactly this. Our plans were clearly communicated and all that. I just thought she had grown up since we had last met, but I now know the conditioning of some minds might never wear off.

I feel that men really have lost a bit of their identity to society. Who knows when we'll get it back, or if it could only get worse? Being a man, and now being more knowledgeable about TRP, I felt obligated to contribute some way to you guys. I want to write more thought out rants later, but for now... this is just one of my experiences.
