This has happened to me twice now. Today, I was on a date with a girl I met last week.... the waitress brings us the food menus, and then starts gushing over how good she thinks my date looks and how she loves her shoes.

Now, of course, the waitress doesn't know that this was the first date between me and this girl. The only reason I can think of why the waitress would do this is because maybe she picked up the 'first date' vibe and wanted to encourage the girl?
