Hate to break it to you, but if you only have one year left of school you may not get any bids or they may be from low tier houses. Fraternities don't want to invest time into somebody they will only have a year with. For example, my house had 18 pledges this fall, 15 were freshman, 3 were sophomores.

Lastly, any fraternity that makes you smoke/drink against your will is trying too hard. If you respect them they should respect you.

Yeah I agree with you. Most top tier frats are off the radar for me but I know the rush chair really well at a mid tier frat and he knows my situation. He says he'll get me the bid if I show up to a few events.

Anyway I think I have no choice but to rush because the way my social circle has dwindled in the last 3 years if i don't make a change I will be fa.

Again... That's not really how it works. The rush chair plans the events, makes rush shirts etc. The Chapter comes together as a whole and decides who gets bids.

If he knows the rush chair like he says he does, he might actually get a bid, as long as the brothers are cool with him and the rush chair can pull some strings. No guaruntee on this however
