Today I held my frame, said how I felt and was excused from jury duty.

It's different when you have a room full of people staring at you, not including the judge, lawyers and court staff.

This is a twenty-eight day trial; drawing from two pools of juriors since the first attempt went from eighty people to thirty-two (my group). Most having to redo their duty on another day, another case.

I've served on two before, but this is the first time I heard of eighteen people needed; not twelve with four alternates.

Contender fourteen was excused because he had family in law enforcement. Then I got called. Handed the mic and went over the onscreen questionarie.

Then got to the final question.

"NO."

Can you be fair and impartial.

Each of the fourteen had said 'yes'.

The defendant is the girlfriend of a gangbanger who helped murdered two people and sent a third to the hospital (survived), besides stealing a car.

Alleged.

Didn't get to say another word - excused.

I'm proud of myself. And if you're curious.

Yes, I do believe what I said. Something was so fishy about the amount of people on the list to take the stand which were named (to make sure we don't know them), so many were police.

Not much else, just wanted to share.
