I could handle staying away from food for that long a day but not drinking water for that long? Incredibly hard and i admire you guys for being able to do it.

You need to look at it at the time of 30 days. Because it's not like fasting is once a week. It's everyday for an entire month.

I get you say it may be hard for the drink part. But what about how hard it would to to fast on the spiritual side as well?

Don't worry about the negativity of these anti-religion commenters OP, they speak from a position of jealousy at your will power and commitment. I'm about as non-religious as you can be and found your post enlightening. It's also interesting that studies have come out recently that point to the massive health benefits of intermittent fasting.

Thanks for the kind words lad. Some people just don't see a good word with good intentions behind and just scrutinize you for it.

The start of this post, including the spiritual side, I'll leave alone. However, this;

The fasting of the eyes. Keep your gaze low. Restrict your drooling over the things we like(women)

Is bullshit. Fuck that. Look all you want, and that will test your discipline. Feeling bad for just looking, for just having sexual urges, is just the kind of depraved shaming tactic with which all organised religions beat the common man.

The fasting of heart. Keep your heart clean and do away with the bad. Don't forget but forgive as a space in your heart isn't one that is empty because it is space. Let it go.

I have no idea what this means. It seems like wishy-washy nonsense.

The fasting of the ears. Keep your ears clean from backbiting and talking nonsense as is it better to stay silent 90% more than you speak. Also listening to music as music is also food for the soul. tongue ... The fasting of our tongue. Keep your tongue clean from backbiting and speaking badly of one another.

This is repetitive and doesn't make much sense because of that. However, badmouthing people is a social faux pas, which you shouldn't do except when someone has demonstrated very poor character, and the people around you are looking for a wise man to authoritatively call it how it is. So you're right in a sense, but the post is unclear.

Also, you haven't followed the recently stickied posting rules. I'm not going to fetch them for you. I advise that you apply those rules and then make this post clearer before the mods delete it.

That depraved shaming tactic to show you to control your urges to look.

You obviously have very very little reading comprehension when it comes to the "spiritual fast".

No, it's there to deny and escape your urge to look, not to control it. The sexual urge is to fuck that woman; looking at her and imagining what it would be like to fuck her is necessary for your self-control to be exercised. Otherwise, you're just walling yourself off from any temptation.

Look at it this way; if a man puts himself in rehab for heroin addiction, he's running from it, though he is dealing with it in a way. However, if he can get to the point where he holds a quantity of it in his hand, imagines what it would be like to shoot up, and then throws it away, then he has mastered self control.

You obviously have very very little reading comprehension when it comes to the "spiritual fast".

Yes. I've never needed such blithering nonsense, nor religion. It arises from existential insecurity, which I have never had. If you're writing blithering nonsense, and expecting people to be amenable to it because they're 'spiritual', don't be surprised or butthurt when the more rational members of this sub point out that you haven't actually formed any coherent points.

Not a sexual strategy. It is a personal interpretation of some quaint cultural practice with a desperate attempt to tie in with trp. Might as well have been a snowflake's essay on what feminism means to me.

Also, no summary nor lesson learned.

Not a sexual strategy.

It doesn't have to be. I agree this post is a pile of shit, but the idea that everything must be about getting laid is an absolute plague in TRP.

[–]TheJessee0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Sigh could we just keep the religion off here, if you want to believe some book that's fine but don't try and fit it in here along with trp theory, it simply has no place here
