What does it mean to be a man? More than anything, I believe it means to never self-compromise. To never bend your own ideals or wants for someone else in exchange for, or in the hopes of receiving, something you "need".

Now, as men in this society that is pervaded by loneliness and separation (internet users especially), our needs basically come down to sex. It is for this that many men become lapdogs. You can argue money, but as Chris Rock so eloquently put it, we'd be fine with cardboard box houses if the women were as well (footnote 1).

Neediness = selfcompromise = not being a man

There are two approaches to abolishing this neediness.

  1. To fulfill the need.
  2. To self-meditate yourself into not having any needs.

The first approach is obvious, just do what it takes. But the second approach is what I want to talk about. In Mickey Royal's "The Pmp Game", he says the second approach is absolutely necessary. That having ANY needs makes you vulnerable to those who can fulfill it. Instead, you must be the man that can fulfill needs. This is what makes you a God.

You can fulfill their needs, but you don't. You dangle the carrot until you own their soul. This is what Royal says is the key to success in that line of work. The extremity of his attitude drew me in.

I think the concept of neediness is grossly underexamined in our lives. We all want to pretend that we have it all, and the shame that we don't have it all is difficult to bear. Do not practice "game". Do not practice "lines". Do what it takes to be able to sit down and just know that you are good. This is what I believe..for now.

footnote1:Money is not a strict prerequisite for sex. And money is not biologically hardwired into our instinctual needs. And a 30k/year income is pretty easy to obtain in the US and will give you shelter, food, and all the other physical needs in Maslow's pyramid. AF, BB is all you need to keep in mind.
