Everything here was supposed to disappear. Banned subreddits, deleted communities, cancelled blogs — much of what is archived here survives nowhere else.

It stays free — no paywall, no account — for the next man who comes looking, the way it was free for you.

I pay for the servers, the storage and the bandwidth myself. If you want this record still standing in ten years, become one of the people who keeps it online.

Submission Statement: There seems to be so many posts on the subreddit about people that are bitter and struggling to 'swallow the pill.' I think the heart of their problem is that they're trying to improve too much of themselves at one time, and unsurprisingly, that doesn't work. Like any other thing worth doing, self-improvement takes time, and sometimes its great to just take the pressure off yourself and appreciate the small improvements that come your way. TRP is a marathon, not a sprint.

This is a fabulous post, and one that I see has a lot of anecdotal evidence for a career in the business world, let me explain.

I am a junior-level software engineer. I just graduated in September, and have only been writing code for less than a year. When I was in my class, I was surrounded by people who have been programming for years, and I was amazed, and slightly discouraged, by what other people could do. I began to make the mistake of comparing myself to people whose full stories I did not know, and felt like I would never be on their level, and everything was just innately harder for me than anyone else.

But then, I realized (about a month ago) how far I have came in 365 days. And I realized if I have gotten this far in 1 Year, think where I will be in my career in another 2-3 years. Same with girls. After I ended a pretty serious relationship, right about the time I graduated, me and my buddy have gotten sloppy drunk and been scamming on girls twice which has already resulted in 3 numbers, 2 dates, and a potential lay in the next week*.

Bottom line, keep your head down, work your ass off, and for all my fellow 18-22 year old guys out there; we'll get there. Take your late teens/early twenties, and use them as a time to grow, learn, and become a man.

*note: Although 3 numbers, 2 dates, and 1 potential lay in the next week sounds shitty, I had never tried the whole bar-scene, scamming on girls thing until about a month ago. I wasn't BP per se, but managed to do a decent job with gf's/high school fuck buddies. I'm merely referencing "adult pickup game" (i.e. bar scene).

Very true and as a junior software developer we are taught to break up huge problems in bits and pieces. I looked at my life and realised I need some discipline in order to achieve my goals. So in order to achieve those goals I need to start with the basic ones first , like cleaning my room, cleaning after myself, working out. Its in doing those things that I can better develop my discipline to achieve bigger goals.

Exactly. It all starts with the commitment to get better each day. Admittedly, there are some days where you do feel like giving up, but you just have to keep going and realize that everyone at some point, thought they should give up. But the greats slogged through and kept going.

Would Elon Musk give up? How about Larry & Sergey? Zuck? Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates? I'm sure they have all have their fill of stress-filled bad days riddled with self doubt, uncertainty, and adversity. But they nutted up, and kept going.

Not to get too "self-help-ish", but I love quotes as a means to look to the greats to see their thought process, and what they think/would do in certain situations. These are fabulous; http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-warriors-success-power-self-improvement/120189-20-amazing-quotes-about-perseverance-not-giving-up.html

And no, this isn't a excuse for weak, feel good 'illusions of progress,' like as often promoted in other subreddits. Half measures feel good at first, but only hurt you at the end. Being like McLovin' for years on end isn't shit. I'm not saying I'm perfect myself, but do actually put in the work.
