[Excuse my formatting and general writing skills, something I'm working on] I'm real new to game but I'm absorbing all I can. Let's get right into it.

In class and there's a decent foreign exchange girl in it. One day we have to get together for a short partner project were we have to talk to each other in front of the class. We get our work done quick and I get to work.

I have trouble opening so i just ask a question that really doesn't matter, in this case who her host family is (the family she lives with here) she say's "X" and I say "oh yeah them" (no idea who the fuck they are this is a completely new school and student body but it's an opener) we get to talking and joking and I ask if the host family takes her out and such, turns out they don't. Gets better and better as the town we are in is real close to the state capitol. (Not a bad place, lots of stuff to do.) I Tell her, "Let me show you around then, can't have you go back to Sweden without doing anything." We joke around and build comfort play-arguing over that she's actually from Denmark.

I tell her, "give me your number so we can figure it out" THIS IS WERE SHIT GETS FUCKED

She can't remember it and so I just end up writing my number down (turns out I might have switched two numbers around) on a piece of paper and giving it to her. Continue the talking and jazz until class ends.

I never heard from her, no text no nothing and when school started up after the weekend she never made any eye-contact. I just chalked it up as I didn't leave as good an impression as I thought. Whatever, I now think of it as a learning experience.

From that I remind myself to slow down when I talk (even though I wasn't then but whatever works, right?)

Make better eye-contact (In fact right after we were done working and there was that little silence right before I opened with the host family bit, we held contact for a good bit until I told her she had pretty eyes. I did it as alpha as I could, relaxed demeanor and little smirk.)

And a little realization about everyone else in the class and about people in general. Everyone had shit eye-contact and body language. We had to watch everyone else do their little talking bit and everyone was slouching with their hands in their pockets talking to the fucking carpet. Like holy shit, even the kid who sat next to the girl I was talking to who was making her laugh and was pretty confident was doing it. Just hit me like a brick how bad they looked. Well, I took it and used it. Walk up there straight-backed, arms comfortable at my sides and looked right in her eyes.

I haven't talked to her since then but I might ask her why she never texted me sometime. The whole day was an interesting learning experience and really opened my eyes to the significance of body language.
