As much as I enjoy amateur legal analysis, I can assure you that the law probably doesn't have as broad of an interpretation as you fear. We could get into a lengthy explanation of Mens Rea, but fuck it cuz honestly you're probably just here to vent.

Finally Criminal Courts are usually less social justice warriorish than Civil Courts.

Ok, good post but in the future do not call them just Stalking Laws.

Language and how we use have a effect on whether we believe something or not.

In the future call them 'Minnesota Extreme and Vague Stalking Laws'

People may think you are criticizing stalking laws in general (I don't, but many people will think that at first) not the extreme and honestly vague Minnesota one that are ripe for abuse.

Stalking does happen were one person gets constantly followed. But these weird stalking laws don't seem to have anything to do with that. The law says 'harassing another person'.

Glad you dodged that bullet though.

Remember everyone, don't trust cops, especially when a woman claims victim.

There's a story in the NY Post today about a guy who got hog tied and thrown in a cell for 12 hours because: AFTER the DA told the crazy ex he/she wouldn't charge him with stalking, AFTER the judge wouldn't grant her a restraining order (a rarity indeed), she just made a scene at the school cafeteria and the white knight cops arrested him with zero evidence.

Literally hogtied him and locked him up for 12 hours, and charged him with criminal contempt. After he was bailed out and had to hire a lawyer, they watched the security video, realized it was ALL made up, they dropped the charges. Now where does he go to get his reputation and lawyer costs back? It's beyond the fucking pale at this point...

Why are you worried about stalking laws? If a girl rejects/ghosts you move on. You can't be accused of harassment if you cease any and all contact.

Your mistake was having any interaction with her other than having your lawyers/court serve her papers to pay the $5k she owes you.

The only harassment you are allowed to use is to use the legal system aka lawfare. It's expensive. Governments do not like their monopoly on violence broken and feuds are damaging to society.

Bury the hatchet already. If some random person came up to me and told me I was lying about a car accident I'd be pretty freaked out.
