Summary: You should be striving to deepen your knowledge, understanding, and application of TRP daily. Don't focus on the little stuff. Let your understanding handle that.

About a week ago I shot /u/GayLubeOil a message on a whim to see if he still did Skype sessions (protip: he does). I’ve been browsing TRP for a year, more or less, and am actually surprised by how much I’ve digested in that time. I didn’t find TRP at a low like many do. It was more of a “hey what’s this thing?” discovery. GLO was good enough to Skype with me for nearly an hour and a half. I didn’t expect it to take more than 20 minutes. We’re both busy guys, so my assumption was I’d ask a couple of questions, we’d discuss, and that would be the end of it. It ran more like two bros talking about life. I thoroughly enjoyed the in-depth talk we had on several different topics. But that’s not the focus of my post. My post is to remind my fellow RP members of what the end goal is.

As I said, I didn’t expect our conversation to last long. I had a couple of minor questions I needed answered, and was really just looking for an experienced member to answer them for me. Answering my planned questions took about 15 minutes. When he had finished, I said “Alright, that’s all I really have.”

“That’s it?”

That question hit me pretty hard. Not because it bruised my ego, but because it demonstrated what GLO expected from a random RP member. He wasn’t agreeing to sit down with me because he wanted to answer a couple of minor questions. He (and I expect a majority of the senior members here) expects that I, as a member of this community, have something deeper to talk about. Once a member has fully taken the time to absorb the ideas here and put them to use in his daily life, minor questions are easily answered. It’s the deeper levels of understanding that will encourage you to take on greater and greater challenges. Thus, until I arrive at the pinnacle of the RP mindset, my day should be riddled with questions.

Here’s the point of this post: depth of understanding is what you should be aiming for. I’m not talking scholarly. I’m talking absorbing what’s going on in the world around you. Notice how a RP lens can change your outlook on every situation, and then think on that.

Complete understanding is your goal, gentlemen. This is why we push Machiavellianism. This is why we push the 48 laws of power. This is why we push controversial ideas, blogs, people. TRP is a whole lot more than just understanding a couple of ideas about women. It’s sexual strategy, sure, but the basis of the analogy that is the name we bear indicates that the world is different than we originally understood. Don’t for a minute let yourself believe you’ve grasped it, and you just may.
