This is an amusing Chinese song that espouses female hypergamy.

Don't forget to turn captions on, a nice lyric is "You poor person who drives an old BMW, don't pretend you're a rich guy who can afford me." This is coming from a third world nation...

china is not a third world nation, technically, or in the vernacular sense of the word. learn some fucking history and stop parroting the shit you hear in the media or from your dumbass friends who don't even have passports.

This is a country with an average GDP per capita of under $5,500 US. Sure there are some developed regions in China, but the majority of the population still lives in extreme poverty. There is no clear cut definition of the third world, however I feel with such a lower level of national income per capita, it definitely deserves the classification. There are many middle Eastern nations with a GDP per capita in excess of three times China (such as Saudi Arabia at ~$20, 500), but are still classified as being third world.

The term has been modernised to refer to the socioeconomic conditions of a country and is now a vague economic classification. It is also sometimes expanded to the fourth world. If you actually bothered to read your own text you would have noted:

Some countries in the Communist Bloc, such as Cuba, were often regarded as "Third World". So yes, you are an idiot, this is most definitely confirmed in your bias towards the passage. If we were living in the 1970s, you would indeed be correct.

by calling them third world you are lumping them in with tiny, shitty, helpless countries that have no alignment with anyone of political consequence.

China will be very interesting to watch in the next few decades. It is a perfect example of what happens to a society with unrestrained hypergamy. Marxism and capitalism have destroyed old traditions that placed restrictions on relationships, yet there is no feminism distorting people's mindsets about the realities of the sexual marketplace. Sex and relationships there are no more than economic goods to be traded.

There is a lot of angst among China's youth regarding this. Men who are poor have absolutely no chance at landing a women. A house and a car are prerequisites for marriage - both are nearly impossible to obtain for an average Chinese man. Rich men, on the other hand, maintain personal harems while paying marriage agencies to find them a virgin to wed. Women absolutely prize their virginity there (minus some bar sluts who live in the cities, who have basically embraced Western feminism), and many will not give it up without at least a promise of marriage from a higher-status man. Chinese men, even the most beta ones who have been single their whole lives, have not been poisoned by feminism and will refuse to marry a woman who sleeps around, or a woman who has hit 30. A ton of these men will end up single their whole lives.

When you see the anger that average Chinese men feel from this, its no surprise that Western societies have built up so many so many institutions and traditions trying to protect monogamous marriage.
