This is something I have been musing about for some while and hope some of you guys have some insights to offer.

I've read quite a bit of the manosphere in the last year and have come to respect a lot of writers and blogs, as well as put ideas into practice though I was never a blue pill guy for too long and spun plates throughout university.

That being said it strikes me there is a conflict between wanting to sleep with women and being consistently disappointed by modern women. I could compare this between two writers I respect Roosh and Jack Donovan. Both approach a similar topic, both end up with different routes and solutions and thoughts.

Putting aside Donovan's sexual preferences his work seems to have a lot more potential to inspire real change and push what being a man is all about. Roosh has written some posts that suggested he was tiring with chasing the notch count but he continues to do it. I wonder why? Is that not being partly in thrall to the feminist hypergamic mess we live with? I feel that was as well sometimes and I'm not a pro like him. (I mean no disrespect here, only drawing on what he has written)

I was late to lose my virginity (19) and my notch count isn't impressive compared to most readers of this sub, however I distinctly remember my thoughts whilst spinning plates at University and pushing my notch count to a simple 10; was this me having power over them, or me being in thrall to something that was simply new and unknown? (Convincing middle glass 'good' English girls to go bare back was almost too easy...The sluttiest girls I hooked up with were the condom insistent ones) I was pretty sure at the time when I had three girls I could have sex on demand I was having power over them but sometimes that small question popped up.

After university I came away with less respect for women, knowing how to break their code and how relatively easy it was to sleep with them diminished the attraction. Looking for new challenges, mental and physical has been of more interest to me since then and my game has certainly suffered, bar a few proud pulls I often found myself unable to really go for the grind and listen to vapid bullshit from the mouths of dames. I could go trawl the bar or I could work out, read a book, write my musings, or learn something new.

Combine this with reflection on how unlikely it seems to find a woman who actually wants a relationship and holds more traditional values the alternative appears to be a life pursuing mastery of other pursuits.

TL;DR think it comes down to two questions How do you balance the red pill worlds of 'go get laid with the vapid hypergamic women feminism has produced' and 'being a man, ala Jack Donovan'? Is there not a partial conflict here, chasing the hypergamic women suggests all a man should do is to be attractive to them when perhaps we should strive for the better because it is important to us as men (best shape, best mental wit) purely on that basis?
