I was casually scrolling through Facebook the other night and came across an article titled "Have you encountered the softboy?" I saved the article and just got around to reading it and I thought you guys would get a kick out of it. According to the author, the "softboy" is a contract to the "fuckboy" with the first sentence spelling it out:

*"The Fuckboy, in his current form, aims for the night, aims for the break, goals to ghost. The Softboy strings you along under loftier auspices. He is Nice yet Complicated; this isn’t just a hookup. It’s a series of such."

At first I thought "cool another butt hurt post-wall feminist complaining about how she can't find a "real man" but I was wrong. This article was written by a male. What was his intention? I have no idea but based on his pic and the tumblr links on his website, his writing doesn't seem red pill at all.

It sounds the softboy is your classic blue pill guy but it would appear softboy knows what he is doing and tries to be mysterious and quirky to set himself apart in an attempt to do anything but act like an attractive male. Deep down the beta voices whisper these things to him and he is so emotionally weak that he believes them and chooses to follow the same voices that fucked him over and over again.

*"The Softboy wears a plain t-shirt or sweater and orders cheap beer backed with bottom-shelf whiskey. He is neither Bro nor Nerd. He is sensitive yet amusingly crass. He doesn’t want you to know he has feelings. He wants you to know that he has feelings and he is completely okay with that."

*"He is emotionally intelligent but does nothing with this knowledge. He is artistic. He is aware. He is still a dick."

He wants you to know he is manly enough it admit he has feelings, which makes him manlier than other dudes in his mind. But he lacks confidence, frame, and honesty and the women he orbits can smell it a mile away. They will fuck a Chad because he is isn't trying to trick them. The hungry dog never gets fed.

*"The Softboy wields guilt like a floral knife."

Even though women use guilt the same way they are disgusted by it when used against them. "I have always been there for you, you at least owe me a date." Women don't need men, they wan't men and the softboy can't comprehend this. He only cares about his needs and unconsciously projects it onto women in a last ditch effort to keep them from leaving. He is a child and emotionally unstable. The flowers he brings a woman are knives in disguise that he will use on them when they try to leave. The flowers are poisonous and tainted and he will stab them in the heart by trying to degrade her and make her feel like she owes him a great debt. Chad makes her laugh and fucks her hard, but the softboy uses manipulation because he knows he is inferior.

The article is useful for newbies and humorous for long time readers. However the real value comes from a response article on thought catalog which you can find on google by searching "softboy". I'm not gonna link it because I know how the mods feel and i agree. I will however give you the most insightful parts about a woman's perspective about softboys.

She completely understands why she fucks Chad and is perfectly fine with it, it's almost like this is how nature work, buts that is stupid says the softboy. He knows Chad is better than him so instead of working hard to better himself he tries to take the easy way out and degrade Chad and with a slight sliver of confidence tries to convince you he is such a great guy once you get to know him. He can treat you so much better but brings all the feelz along and unloads it in these women, he is an emotional mooch with nothing to offer in return. she fucks Chad because he isn't trying, he is letting it happen because he knows it will happen and if it doesn't he will be perfectly fine.

*"The softboy is problematic – dangerous, even. He was born in response to what women want, which leads me to assume that his motive is to be liked by women."

The softboy stands for nothing, he has no backbone, no ambition, no desire except to be liked by women. He hates competition and hard work. He doesn't want to change the world he wants the world to change for him. He doesn't want to attract women, he wants to appease them. He is weak, he is fragile, and he is scared.

*"Your plaid shirt, acoustic guitar, and Moleskine notebook aren’t fooling us anymore, softboy. Maybe you should take note from the bad boy and be real with us for once."

one of the few times I've seen a woman speak and say what she actually feels. The sad part is the softboy will hamster this statement and think that she only feels this way because she has only fucked Chads in the past. "If she knew what a great guy I am she would change her mind" he would say to himself even in the face of reality. He does not attract women because he acts like a woman, thinks like a woman, and in her eyes he is a woman. She fucks chad because he doesn't listen because is is staring at her tits the whole time and throws in an "I understand" every so often. So why does she like this? because she can unload all her feelz without a whiny softboy butting in every 10 seconds telling her how to think, how to feel, and how it affects him and all the feelz he is dealing with too. She most likely knows Chad doesn't care and that's fine because he is hard to win. An alpha male is a prize, the woman in the article said so herself. He is tough and hard to break down. He can only be won through hard work and the smallest gestures can be seen as a win in her eyes, but the softboy is not a prize, he expects everything and offers nothing in return.
