You've got some good points here, but this breaks our rules on concern trolling.

To address the Endorsed tags:

We give this tag to users who have shown a pattern of quality contributions over a period of time. We do this to help steer discussion by showing other, newer users, who has their head on straight. It helped when we were much smaller because the noise was actually much louder than the signal. We've improved as a forum a lot since then.

Obviously we can't speak to each individual comment these people make, and nobody's perfect or right 100% of the time. If somebody appears to be abusing the tag we do (and have) revoke it.

As far as your concern, we hear you. The mod team constantly puts together ideas and plans to try to combat the never-ending onslaught of the next big thing that threatens TRP. (it has been this way since 100 subscribers).

What you can do:

Be the change you want to see. Post quality content, downvote bad content, report anything low quality or rule breaking. Reports help A LOT. More than most users know.

I still don’t know whose dick has to get sucked to get the “Endorsed Contributor” status, but the irony here is that TRP is supposed to be a “meritocracy” according to the sidebar, yet by giving select members this sticker next to their handle they get an unfair advantage in attention and consideration, thus destroying the entire concept of a meritocracy.

Proper glad I have no concept of authority and dismiss everybody who says stupid garbage on here.

I think the problem comes down to the size of the community. Back in 2013, there were only about 50-75k members here iirc. It was a tightknit community and many names were familiar around here. So in a sense it kind of was a brotherhood. I liked that aspect because it made it easier to share stories with other posters here. However, I've noticed as the community gets larger (this applies to any community of size) that the discussion begins to deteriorate because of saturation. Its basically an extreme version of Godwin's law. And as the community keeps getting larger the mission of the sub becomes more and more diluted. As an example, take a look of what happened to TwoX when it became a default sub.

I see you're getting it. This was something PK_atheist and a few of the OG's talked about 5 years ago.

Self improvement implied a deficiency, but deficient to what? Fem imperative. So the idea was strategy, or using means to achieve an end.

You don't lift because you're too fat and need to fix you, you lift because it makes you hawt, healthy, and the halo effect.

It's semantic, but it avoids the pivot into being a better beta, doing more sophisticated choreplay.

AS for #5, this is why so many EC's over the years have blown up at users for being value leeches. Everyone who does post top level content is begging for the lot to start to do the same.

I agree with field reports. Even theory should be peppered in with field reports , naval gazing has always been bad, from the PUA days onward.

#7, yeah, it wasn't that he was simply posting too much, he was regurgitating the sidebar, and you could tell he was a poser, who did sweet FA, and was getting over his drug addiction and oneitis, using reddit as his personal journal.

#10 is directly related to 5. EC status isn't an award that is given, it's a fucking reminder to others here, that other men have found him valuable in the past, to help others know who has a clue what they are doing.

Getting it is easy. Other EC's reccomends comments/posts for flair, the bot assigns numbers, I'm pretty sure after 5, it automatically adds EC status.

I've yet to see anyone hit vanguard, pretty sure thats only for EC's of the first year or two of TRP. And you may get special flair, if you do something noteable outside the sphere. GLO has been trolling on TV, RPS and a few of the others been in Forbes(?).

I do hope to see all the content you provide in the future. Hope this gives some context to your observations
