They Don’t Want Help

It took me a while to truly realize this. In reality, some people are truly fucked, and theres no use in trying to help them.

Nice guys of the world: Stop fucking giving people help, especially because you think "it is the right thing to do," and even more especially so if you think "if I do this for him/her, they will like me more," or "if I do this for my co-worker/boss, I will get ahead."

Assertive individuals do not perpetuate benevolent acts meaninglessly. They give to people that deserve it, and even sometimes not to people that deserve it. The absolutely do not give to people that do not deserve it. That's called getting walked on.

It is one thing to be polite, or give charity freely, because TRULY want to and truly do so with no ulterior motives, but it is another completely different thing if you do it because you have an underlying want or need that you wish to be satisfied, even if you do it unconsciously [ie "if I do x, they will do y for me, even though that is just my belief."]
