One thing I learned from RP: this sub is great to understand why you should lift. But it is terrible for actual lifting advice.
Another thing I learned: it's also terrible for financial advice.
There are far far better sub reddits to get financial info and strategy. Investing in yourself and your future is important. That does not equate to equate to owning your own biz. Biz failure rates make divorce rates look healthy. Or off shore investments or tax sheltering.
RP is better for other purposes

'Biz failure rates' can be thrown out the window.
Most businesses should have never been started in the first place - there's a dog bakery in my town.

A musician was hired to play his violin for a hunting party. A few days into his gig, tragedy struck and the hunter party was attacked by lions. All hunters were killed. The musician promptly began to play his violin and all the lions lay down to listen. Just when he thought he was gonna get away, a lion came up and violently attacked him, killing him. One of the lions got up and said, "I knew that fucking deaf lion was going to spoil our concert".
I think I found the deaf lion. Maybe The Red Pill isn't the place for me to come and offer tips on how to strengthen your financial position. Maybe now I know why. Two comments in and we have a genius telling us they don't need no stinking help.
As for business failing rates. Your enthusiasm is killing me. You may be deaf to financial structuring, happy with your job and shit, but there are many who don't share your enthusiasm for failure. Just go on your way, and let others listen to the concert dude.

What's this about a Def Leppard concert?
[–]topapito[S] -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just a concert I went to once, it sucked, nothing more to say about it, rather embarrassing really.

This is so broad and abstract as to be completely useless to most people. You do realize most people are on a level where investing in a 401k would be a step in the right direction?
You're skipping like 10 levels ahead without backing it up with anything or bothering to explain the first step. I doubt you are actually rich because your writing is poor. However, you may very well be rich and knowledgeable on these vague things you talk about. But that's the good thing about redpill (the subreddit): no matter who you might be in real life, if your writing is poor and empty, you're not going to get anywhere.
Writing is the great equalizer on Redpill. Look at the way every EC writes. They're either flat-out good writers or have such vast knowledge/experience, they make their writing good via realness of content (old skool OG "ultimatecad" was a good example, but his account is deleted now).
Anyway, kind of lame for me to post a screed on writing, but your post got me thinking about it.

You're 100% right. It is lame of you to attempt to make judgements about my writing. Considering we haven't even started yet. I've had many requests in private messages about questions on how to structure and strengthen a man's financial position. I'm sorry if you were expecting a full blown course on how to make money. Or if you are worried about how rich I am versus how well I can write. Nope, I don't write books for a living. And what I do for a living should not worry you. Your main concern should be if there is anything someone brings to the table that can expand your horizon. I have had lowly employees give me ideas about how to make more money or save more money. If I had your attitude, I would have done the same, not listen.
This is not a class. This is not a lesson. And a 401k plan is so wrong on so many levels that if you think this is way above it, of course you do. You're looking for financial advice from a writer or author.

You did a good job flipping it in the last sentence. You flipped the burger over. That's the writing shit I'm talking about.

Well thanks man, like I said, the idea is to get the conversation going. Get people thinking about ways to protect themselves. I certainly appreciate your input.

If you incorporate your business and make your assets property of the company then they can't be taken as easily.
But they can still be taken. Incorporating alone doesn't actually solve anything because if your wife can prove that you own that corp, guess what? It's now part of the settlement.

Been here about 3 months and I don't think I've seen a Financial post before - I was beginning to wonder if they ever cropped up at all.
It's a difficult area to get into and some advice can lead to you building a cottage industry where you are working for your money rather than your money working for you. Talking in broad strokes you are best off trying to maximise your earning potential, being super-harsh on yourself regarding spending and acceptable debt levels (preferably none) and investing as wisely as possible (stock if you feel confident, assets, partic real estate, if you don't) and as for protecting what's yours this is an immensely tricky area that I don't think a solid answer exists for...as yet.
Other than "don't live with her, form a relationship with her, marry her or have a child with her" - that will deffo work...and if it doesn't the Law is no longer justice-based....

Or only get married after signing a prenup so you don't have to waste your time with a shell game such as described.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It'd be better if everyone skipped this thread entirely.
[–]beginner_0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Can't this be spelled out in 1 sentence?
Don't get married.
Then you don't need all this stuff unless you are really rich and might have random strangers gunning for your money.

You're 52 fucking years old and have diabetes I knew you were a failure...
[–]topapito[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Oooh, you read my post history, that's pretty psychopathic of you...
Hehe, I still stand by what I told you the other day in the psychopath forum. You're 14 kid, not ready for a diagnose. So nope, still not a psychopath.
[–]abclucid0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Retard I'm 16... don't know where you got that one. And old men shouldn't say hehe to adolescents just a little life tip...
[–]topapito[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
16? Nah! Impossible! You don't sound a day over 12, I gave you an extra 2 years out of pity. And cause you're funny.
