Ive fully subscribed to TRP and I have been working on all issues of becoming the man I am meant to be. I notice more blue pill behaviors because I make every attempt to avoid being in those situations in the first place. The world is saturated with these influences. It really hadn't hit home until the beginning this weekend.
My roommate, 29/M, just got out of a toxic relationship on a long-term on again, off again basis with a female that considered herself "strong", "intelligent", and "independent". Having taken this girl out well before he started dating her (he introduced us), all of those terms are boiled down to the fact that she's simply angry, emotional, and irrational.
As the break up occurred, my roommate meets a decent looking girl and instantly they start dating. When I say instantly, I mean he met her on Monday and they haven't been apart yet. She has been here all weekend and they only leave to get food.
He's, in the span of a week, purchased a dog, a tv and new wheels for her car.
In between their lock in sessions, where they don't leave his bedroom, he comes down while she is still upstairs and talks about hanging out, makes small talk, etc. I engage him in conversation, encouraging him to do things, to no avail.
I've observed this and all I can ask myself is, "what happens when this high people describe as love goes away?" I realize it's like a drug, and it's bound to wear off.
I've realized that if you can embrace the fact that a relationship of this nature (I've had many) is nothing but destructive, you'll be better off.
It's far too fresh to bring it up to him, because he fell right into this pattern last time, but I feel obligated to say something.
Thoughts?
