Bit of background: 28 years old, been in 3 relationships lasting 1.5 years, 4 years, and currently on one that's a bit over a year. Dated quite few women, slept with a lot. Hang around with very successful men of various backgrounds and have traveled the world. Most importantly, I have been cheated on once, I cheated on a gf, and have been the other man quite a few times.
I've seen a lot of AWALT posts, and my belief is this: Every woman has the potential to cheat if the circumstances are there. The reasons why may be different, some women cheat easier than others, etc. I'm not gonna get into why women cheat because that's a post for another day. Instead I want to point out something that I haven't seen on here. I understand the anger some people have in some respects...I was there too. But, guess what? Men cheat too. All of them. Yes, that's right, All Men Are Like That. AWALT + AMALT = Everyone Is Like That.
I started noticing this, ironically, when I was sleeping with someone who still rides the CC at 34 years old. We were smoking a joint, talking about life philosophies and shit as there was quite the age gap between us, not to mention I was still finding myself and she has her life all settled, minus hubby and kids. She was a good girl to learn shit off of. Talking about relationships as we both knew we didn't want one with the other, she asked why men cheat. I said I didn't know much, expect maybe sex as I was inexperienced in the relationship side of things.
"Spiced, let me tell you something." she says "Women cheat. A lot. However, I rarely believe a man who says he hasn't cheated. If he really hasn't cheated, he doesn't have enough experience in life. There's only two kinds of guys I see in terms of it: Those who have cheated on their gf and those who haven't yet."
Not long after I stop sleeping with her, my roommate at the time was out playing the field..and comes across this really hot girl. Problem is she's living "out west" and he's on the East Coast, so they play a little long distance dating/relationship. While he was sleeping with her, he fucks the hell out of his ex's friend. I jokingly call him out on it saying aren't you madly in love with your date? He was all "yeah, but it don't count, etc etc etc". Btw, I did mention I cheated on a gf, he was also calling me out saying that it was wrong, bad, and that I should just break up with her. He declared, repeatedly, that he has "never, ever, cheated on a gf".
Well that didn't last long. After going on a trip with his date they make things official but he's still long distance with her. And we all know why we as men cheat. We aint gettin any. Like I said, I've done it before. I wasn't gettin any sex at home so I started wandering and hooked up with quite a few women. Anyway, I had a suspicion he was sleeping with someone I used to sleep with. I always seen his truck at her house, he was coming home at 2 AM from her house, etc. I was going out of town and my other roommate was away on vacation...I decided though we were coming home early cause of snow. Lo and behold, I walk into my house seeing my roommate giving it to that girl I slept with on the couch. Busted. He begged and pleaded for me not to tell his gf. I didn't, because I understood why he did...plus I'm not a huge asshole and throw a friend under the bus...because for all I know she could have been cheating on him too.
Sure, it's one story. I could also tell a million others from those barely in a relationship to ones where he's been married for 15+ years with 3 kids but is sick and tired of the wife being lazy and not even trying to have sex with him. But if a guy who swears up and down he has never cheated, is really religious, and is a serial monogamist and cheats, what does that say of the rest of us?
Now you still might be wondering why I wrote this. I get the anger phase. I was there. But I realize now it's completely fucking pointless, even hypocritical, to come on here, whine, bitch, and moan about how she cheated on you and AWALT. Because guess what? Men cheat too. All of them. If you haven't cheated, it's because you haven't yet. There's no point in complaining about them when we do it too, and it's in our nature. Men want sex, women want to trade up. Hypergamy exists in both genders. You can't complain on something you can't change. So what do you do? Improve yourself. Don't just lift, but improve yourself as a person physically, and mentally. You never know when you might not be satisfied, meet some amazing woman, or when she cheats on you. EILT.
tl/dr: All women are like that + All men are like that = Everyone is like that. There's no point in complaining about something you can't change or do anything about. Improve yourself, and you'll be happy regardless if a woman is there or not.
