SUMMARY
why finding a role model is important, be it your father, uncle, boss or even your best friend.
BODY
it's been a couple of months since I started reading and internalizing TRP and I now I wonder how could I be so beta.
Basically my father is one of the most RP men I've ever met but I was so focused on videogames and criticizing him that I could not see it.
My father:
-
holds frame like a fucking boss. Even if it can sometimes hurt his relationships he remains firm on what he believes is correct. I'm not going to go into specific daily experiences but you can imagine: leading family holidays, discussing how to do things with my mother and so on
-
Works hard: successful professional, financially independent, has hobbies which never stopped doing even if my mother tries to sabotage (ski and paddle).
-
Protects his family like a god damn marine. When I was 12 we were robbed and he got us out of the situation by outsmarting the fuckers (deaths could have happened)
-
manages his bitch: my mother sometimes can be a true bitch. However she's a great woman: she works (my father won't allow her to quit her job, 10 years ago she complained because she wanted to get a job when mu father was earning big money in south America), she takes care of the house, cooks, etc
He doesn't give a shit who she goes out with as long as she meets her responsibilities. My mother has caused a lot of trouble in the past accusing him of cheating and telling him to not go skiing if other women go with his group)
- He tried to be my teacher in many things and I didn't listen. Work addict but still did some things to be a present father (took us to school, doctor, take care when ill when he had time)
I could go on but I'm at the airport about to catch a flight, hope you get the point
LESSONS LEARNT
-
never forget to have a mentor, especially if it's someone you trust since it will allow you to learn from his experiences. Even more if he tries to teach you. Don't be a stubborn shit
-
of course, don't spend times with people who dont possess what you seek. If your father is BP you owe him respect and you could play tennis table with him and agree to what he says but don't follow his actions
-
HOLD FRAME even when shit gets hard, be like my father.
I wish I could've seen this before, next time I speak to him I will tell him he's a great father and to never change the way he is. However, he's lost emotional control in the past because of us (forcing him to be bluepill and conflicting his inner him)
Last year I moved to a different country because things were not good ok with my family
