Adopt some interesting goals or hobbies maybe. Learn how to create passive income or get better at a sport. That was my solution. Keep yourself busy.

I hear ya, bud. I hated the first term of my first year. It gets better

At a four year university, the first two years generally suck. Third and fourth year are much more interesting

First year is survey courses, ie super general

Second year is weeder courses, ie weed out the dummies

Don't drop out. Check your T levels, take Vitamin D and Omega 3, walk in the daylight more. Sounds like your depressed

The time is going to pass anyways. I repeat, the time is going to pass regardless so make decisions based on the premise the future WILL become the present so act accordingly. The absolute wrong perspective is buying in to the Hedonist motto "eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die". Yeah have fun and party and live in the moment, when appropriate. The absolute fact is there's almost no chance you will die tomorrow. There is, however, an incredibly high likelihood you will live to an average life span. You'd have to be an intergalatic retard to bet against it happening with how you live your life.

Another very important truth to grasp is we honestly don't know (none of us), nor is it possible to know or predict with any accuracy whatsoever, what will constitute the external conditions in which your future life will actually be lived and experieced. So much is uncertain, unknown, not yet known, and dependent on utterly random interactions far removed from the physical surroundings in which your life is occurring. What emerges in our lives is so dependent on intial and current conditions. There is truly an incalculable, unfathomable, inscrutable number of variables that constitute the conditions what can emerge is a function of a specific quantified set of those variables. Any change to the variable quantities, no matter how minute, changes emergent properties and creates an entirely unique and different set of future potentialities. Staying in school changes your future conditions as does dropping out. The point is don't mistake the very very limited and extraordinarily incomplete mental abstraction of your future that you are currently able to conceptualize with the full range of actual possibilities. It's a very common perceptual error.

There is an appropriate time and a place and a season for everything all thing's in moderation. The same substance can that has salutary effects at one dose can be fatal at another. How you feel right now isn't how you will feel in a day a week a month a year 5 years from now so don't project your current feeling state into the future. People often fail to realize their model of reality uses an erroneous premise where their feeling state is permanent instead of temporary.

Be deliberate and thoughtful. Think things through. Be adaptable and flexible. Not rigid and absolutist. Try not to make impulsive decisions. Think think think. Rational. Practical. Long term. It is the outcome that matters. Intentions and motivations don't mean shit.
