I've been with lots of girls and been on lots of dates, and issues like this still get in my head. Usually I ask myself "if I was going out in the evening alone to do something fun, where/what would that be?" and just invite her along. No need to make it a huge dinner date deal; imo, those are the worst because it's not exactly fun and you just sit around asking dumb interview questions instead of doing something you like.

Examples: a dance lesson, ice cream/coffee/beer, a walk around a local park, go thrift shopping for goofy shit, ice skating, local festival/event, wine and art walk, make a fire someplace. I could go on forever, and this list was just me thinking of stuff that I would do alone if I wanted, but would be fun to do with somebody else too.

Why does it have to be a place?

You could just go for a walk or a stroll in a park, not somewhere fancy.

Save the good places and fun stuff for later dates.
