I am suffering with depression, probably for last 10 years of my life, since i was age of 18. Last 2 years, i started turning this table around. Last 6 months, found out about the red pill as well, which was a huge boost to my already improved lifestyle. 2 years ago, when i started going to gym, reading books, drinking less, stopped smoking - since then i have been noticing that all my friends, are depressed as well. They just don't talk about it or don't understand. They just think its the hard bearing of life. Time passed. And now they are ultimately depressed. Some of them take drugs and booze even more, to simulate happiness. Some of them are just grumpy and toxic. I talk to them, always suggest them to hit the gym with me, go on a hike, learn the meditation. They listen, some of them laugh at me, some of them agree, but continue doing the same thing.

So i decided, a week ago, to stop saving people. I understood it is waste of my time, and plus by trying to help them i realized that i was feeling better about myself so i started becoming lazy in the other parts of my life.

And today, i talked to one of my childhood friends, who i haven't talked to for a while and who i love very much - and he is also very depressed, he talked to mne about that he wants to kill himself, that's how bad he feels sometimes, but has responsibilities for his wife and kids and doesn't wanna do it. And is now taking anti-deps.

So i again did the motivational talk with him, and told him i went through the same thing and told him that now he has a person that he can talk to, because he said he has no one to understand what he reeally feels.

So this again drags me into this savior mode, which i think isn't good for me. Should i stop? What should i do?
