I'm not too clued up on trp theory. I've heard it often said that women are hypergamous in that they will seek men above their own status, regardless of ability to start a relationship. This tends to include cheating, with trp philosophy being 'don't be worse than the other guy'.
My question is whether this also applies to men, according to trp literature. Do they seize these opportunities too, or do they have different priorities?
If so, is there a scientific explanation for these differences? Are these supported in any studies?
I think trp is potentially a useful framework or lens, but I'm wary. If there's a 'trp for skeptics', I'd be happy with reading that too. I'm less interested in the Game than I am in the validity of the worldview.
