Hi guys,

I am new to TRP. I’ve been lurking for a little over a month now, and reading this + the actual TRP(sidebar specifically) a lot. Finally, I have a question that I can’t find a thread for, so I figured it was time for me to make an account and ask. First, a little bit about myself:

  • 29 years old, never married, live in USA.
  • I lift. I’m 6’0, ~200 pounds, probably about 18-21% Body fat and I’m working on cutting that down now.
  • I had a clinical anxiety issue for most of my 20s. I practiced CBT with a therapist and spent some years progressively building my self confidence and reducing anxiety. I recently turned one of the last corners with this. The CBT training is helping me a lot to work on my inner game w/ TRP during this pandemic.
  • I started applying TRP right before the pandemic and got a one night stand out of it. (The ‘shit test’ stuff on the sidebar is gospel)
  • I work in IT and get paid well for it. If I told you more about what I did, you’d assume that I was smart (it’s happened before). I’m also pursuing a graduate degree in a technical field, while working full time.
  • I also own my own condo and own a rental nearby. I’ve always been passionate about starting a business for non-TRP related reasons, and one of my overarching goals is to buy more rentals.

So on those last two points: I have an impressive sounding job, make a lot of money, and make a bunch of money on my side hustle (rentals) with dreams of expanding into more. I do have other hobbies and interests and plan on getting into more(like bjj) once the pandemic is over, but my graduate degree and business ambitions are the things that I spend the most time on and I’m most passionate about ( I spend a full work week at my job too).

All of these are financially lucrative, so my thing is this - I’m afraid of getting automatically put into the ‘beta bux’ category since, frankly, I make a good amount of money, I work in IT which has a beta nerdy stereotype, and my whole landlording business ambitions. I’ve read a bunch of alpha vs. beta threads on TRP, but none have seemed to address this point (unless I’ve just completely missed it).

So, how does someone in my situation avoid being automatically lumped in “Beta Bux” category?
