I was raised in a Catholic family, as an only child. I'm now in university, spinning plates and doing my thing, and it occurred to me that since I'm an only child, my parents may expect me to continue the family line. However, I'm personally opposed to marriage and family life, and am afraid to commit due to the relinquishment of my autonomous freedom, something which I don't believe is worth doing, especially in a world with 7 and a half billion souls.

Has anyone else experienced this dilemma? How did you solve it?
