Ever since I was a kid, babies and dogs were afraid of me for some reason. Babies would cry. Dogs would bark and growl. I didn't really know why until a friend asked me why I always had a scowl / angry look on my face. Immediately, I started changing my natural resting face to something more upbeat such as a confident smirk and got the results I wanted.
No longer are babies and dogs afraid of me and people approach me more often. I realized that my facial expression made me unapproachable and even scary to me. My problem is that it takes a lot of effort and I'm wondering if it's worth pursuing. Things like posture and stance can be fixed through good habits, is it the same for facial expression?
Lastly, is it worth it? With my natural resting face, people are intimidated and it gives me the upper hand when interacting with the world. People get out of my way and don't question what I do since they don't want to make my mood even worse. In contrast, people enjoy people who are happy and fun to be around. That could be seen as 'nice guy' attitude, though.
Thoughts?
tl;dr maintain gtfo my way look, or continue positive face
