Like today for example, I was leaving classes and noticed a girl heading towards the neighboring dorms. I simply asked "What did you get on the quiz?" she told me her grade and asked for mine. Trying to imply some RP into the conversation I said "I'm not sure." her grade was better but I was trying to seem kind of mysterious. She explained to me how she needs to study next time and I answered "I could tutor you." But after that the conversation kind of turned sour. I panicked when she asked if I'm good with history. I responded to "I might be.". I had her until out of nowhere I just said "I'm pretty good at history."

I had no idea what to do and we didn't speak after that. I don't know how that even happened I was in the clear and she seemed to dig it. But the question is what could have i said that maybe or thought about that might of made the conversation transition a lot smoother.

FYI: she's like a low 8 and I'm trying to get her to chase. also it's my first time talking to her.
