I've been noticing a lot more creeps, and socially awkward spergs opening with this line as of late, especially on transit and while waiting for public transit. Does it work? Should I be opening with this line?

The other day random guy's conversation went something like this.

Guy: Can I get your number?

Her: uhhh??? No.

She backs up a foot

Guy: why not you have a phone don't you? Show me.

*She pulls out her phone"

I don't think a number was exchanged, but I wasn't fully staring at them and I had my headphones in.

Are more and more people just skipping basic game and going straight for numbers? Should I be attempting this?
