I'm 17. I've been at worst an average student and at best a stellar student. I listen to my parent's advice of taking the ''safe path'' for as long as I can recall, and I still am. Currently enrolled in the best CEGEP (two years post high school and pre univ) of my province, busting my ass to get my average high enough to enter med school. Cuz you see, my om always told me (and all of her friends): ''6paths_luds would make such a good doctor'' or ''oh yeah, he's going to be a doctor. I see it in his eyes.''

Truth is, I'm not sure of which job I want to do. I definitely want to be rich and be able to spoil my brother and my parents, because they've given me so much. However, becoming a surgeon is multiple years of busting your ass to get the job, a job I'm not so sure I would like anyways, at the end. I tried to tell my mom: ''I always get bored of doing the same thing all the time, I don't think I'd want to do such a thing as a permanent job.'' but she always tells me to stfu.

I'm really unsure of what I want to do as a job, how to talk to it about my parents. Is anyone here able to give me advice on what I should do? Also, answers from doctors/surgeons are more than appreciated.
