I’m 21, about to graduate from a top university with a finance degree in 3 years. I know fluent Python and SQL programming which I taught myself on my own time and I have a job in sales lined up through internships. I’ve grew up in a top 5 size-rank city in the country my whole life, and I’m going to university down the street from where I grew up.

I’m tired of the city life. Part of me wants to move to a small town and get into the trades, learn skills and start my own contracting/subcontracting gig. I don’t plan on getting married soon, obviously. But I think I need some different life experience to round me out. Any thoughts? I’m pretty wise financially and I have 0 student debt, I’ve been working for a government agency for the last 3 summers doing blue collar work and have about 30k in savings from that job and my college jobs. I’m learning the ins and outs of trading securities and might even get my series 7 and series 63 soon.

But in all honestly I find way more fulfillment doing shit with my hands and I click with the small town lifestyle way more. I think the city life isn’t cut for me right now and I need to move somewhere to be uncomfortable for a bit. I’m too comfortable where I am and my conscience is telling me to make the move. What do y’all think? Will this set me back? I
