How do you guys avoid indulging in bad habits when stress mounts? A lot of difficult truths are dealt with here and we spend time trying to replace behaviors that don't benefit us with ones that do. When I experience negative emotions (powerless, anxious, exhausted, unimportant, lost, lonely, etc) bad habits start to become really difficult to avoid (videogames, jacking off, stupid television, overeating, weed, alcohol).

Bad coping mechanisms are what has been holding me back in the first place but I don't know an alternative that sticks. The positive activities do help but I want to see permanent change rather than falling into bad habits when things get tough.
