I went on a first date with this chick and we got talking objectively by the end of it. She told me my personality was too "cute" for her, that I was nice and probably a relationship person rather than the short-term she was looking for. In all honesty, I myself would like to be the long term and not the short term guy, but what the fuck am I supposed to make out of the "cute" personality type comment? Is chivalry truly dead, and are people confusing it with "cuteness"!?

Edit #1: Let me just say that I didn't think any of my actions as putting her on a pedestal or anything like that. I would sometimes get the door for her and be a kind gent when she cracked jokes and laugh, but that's about it.

Edit #2: Apart from that, she told me I was too formal. I feel this is true, since English is not my first language, and secondary languages learned through formal training do come off as sounding more sincere (cute?) I suppose. Can others see this logic or is it too far fetched?
