To begin with, I already think the answer to my question is yes. Also, I've been following TRP for about a year now, internalized a lot of concepts, continued lifting, can attract girls, but suck at cold approaching and escalating. Half stoned right now so please excuse my writing.

Here's the situation I think I fucked up: So I've been friends with this one girl for 2 years (same friend group in high school and hanging out over the summer). We flirted a lot together, but 2 of my guy friends (let's call them Kent and Ethan) from the same group felt she flirted a lot with them too. For example, she took a 2 hour trip from her college to Kent's college and apparently they stayed in his dorm together and watched a movie, but nothing sexual or even romantic at all happened. He told me she was really cold towards his advances so he just stopped.

The reasons why I thought it was different between me and her vs Kent and her are: she was always a tiny bit nervous during conversations -in a good way-, was always responsive to kino from me -something she didn't do for Kent or Ethan.- This is why I thought that I could escalate with her last night.

A week ago, I told her we should smoke together. Our schedules didn't work out so I said alright next time. Don't text for a week and on Friday she asks "What about this weekend"? We agreed to chill on Sunday (last night) and smoke some bud (never smoked with her before). On the night of, she was really eager to make it happen; even though she was running a lot later than we arranged, she asked if she could still come over when it was 10:30pm on a Sunday.

So she gets here, we hug, banter, and go out to walk around my complex, and smoke. We're bumping shoulders, laughing a lot, etc. Put my arm around her when we went through a dark path, and she was totally receptive to it. Eventually, go back to my place, listen to some music, more banter, put on The Office to watch. While watching, the conversation starts moving to our friend group situation now that we're all in college. I asked her about the Kent and Ethan -who still kinda like her in a fading oneitis sort of way- and what she thought about it. She says she just saw them as friends and never considered any romance with them. I pressed harder and asked her about why she visited and stayed the night with Kent if that was the case. She responded that normally hangs out with a lot of guys alone to play video games, smoke weed, or watch something together, and doesn't understand why people think boys and girls can't just be friends. I tell her that doing that makes it complicated for everyone, asking if she ever really felt any attraction to Kent or Ethan. She says not really, and feeling like I was losing her interest, I muster up the will to escalate (which I wanted to do much earlier, but was too scared to) and say "What about between us" and lean in kind of noncommittally to see if she's down for the kiss. She says "Oh my god stoopp" to my question and I back off. After this we keep talking a bit but I can tell she's not fully into it, and eventually she says she should go. Note: She is still a virgin, I know because she told me.

Afterwards I had a lot of questions. Should I have just gone for it instead of seeing if she would reciprocate? Did I become too beta by asking those questions about her and Kent&Eric? Was she ever actually attracted to me or was I just reading her wrong? Is it really possible for any girl in the west to think like how she said, or was she just holding a "I didn't know" front to justify her actions? I really want to learn from my mistakes so if you guys could share your opinions I'd really appreciate it.
