So long story short, I'm a college student and haven't had much trouble with girls. I let a girl break me down freshman year and used it to become better physically and mentally. Worked on myself, had fun, stayed out of relationships and did my own thing. This was up until the past month or so when I met a new girl. She was unlike most I had met, career-driven, family-driven, the whole 9 yards.
We talked and there was an instant connection. A whole lot of chemistry and honestly I could talk to her for hours unlike other girls I had hooked up with previously. I was growing tired of the hookups and honestly wanted to see where this one went. She introduced me to her friends, roommates, did cute little things for me and always talked me up. We went on a few dates, messed around, etc (she's a bit of a traditional girl, wanted to wait atleast a date or two to really get going). She continued to invest more time and I just went with the flow. Didn't come off as needy or desperate and she constantly implied that I had "other hoes" around which I didn't deny.
We went to a concert last weekend (we ran into the guy who fucked her over two months ago , I think they dated for like two months or so but she invested a lot of time in the guy, didn't hook up with him either because he apparently was holding out or something). Then two days later she tells me she isn't ready for a serious relationship? I'm not even sure where that came from, we hadn't talked about relationships, hadn't talked about feelings (besides her telling me how much she cared about me). She told me she wasn't ready, I stated that I cared a lot about her, conversation caught me by surprise, wasn't gonna pursue anything we both didn't want and that I was going with the flow and doing my own thing. She replied again and I didn't reply any further.
It's been about a week, she continues to view my stories (just a bunch of partying and doing other fun shit), like my insta pics etc. The only reason this situation bothers me is because she actually caught my eye. This happens very rarely in a dating sense, which is why I really enjoyed talking to her. I don't think this is a standard case of "oneitis" because I know there are plenty of girls out there, probably with similar characteristics but this situation just feels different. She opened up about a lot with me and obviously showed more interest the whole way. Did I get played in the long run? Should I even try contacting her again?
