I had class with this girl. I flirted with her a lot and touched her and made innuendos. There was definitely some tension between us. She just broke up with her boyfriend. She messaged me on Instagram saying that "no one was there for her" and she "needed someone to talk to." What's weird is that she did this when we didn't even follow each other on Instagram and have literally never talked outside of class.

I judged this as her trying to use me as an emotional tampon. I told her I was sorry that it happened but that I was about to go on a date and I couldn't talk. She started apologizing and telling me to have fun on my date. She then unsent all of her messages that she sent me, and asked me to unsend mine so that she could forget about it. I didn't reply when she asked this.

Did I handle this correctly? What was her motivation for doing this if we had never talked outside of class and had never really seen me as a "friend" because there was sexual tension between us?
