Long story short, I was doing an internship for school last year. There was a moment where it was me (7/10), another student (female, 7/10), my preceptor (professor, employee at the internship company, female, 8/10), and another male employee (scientist, 4/10). I bring up ratings because I think this guy was trying to AMOG me to impress the females.

We're all talking about school and he asks me why I went to my school that's more expensive and farther than this public school that's closer to home for me. I was honest and said my grades didn't cut it. There's more to it because I'm an immigrant that came last second to the US to take the SATs but I didn't get into that.

But he replies with "so you were too dumb to get in?"

I simply smile and say "yep".

He's thrown off guard and so are the females. I don't remember their exact reactions so I forget how amused they were, if at all.

He has a reaction along the lines of "wow" and asks the female student the same question. She makes up some shit about how she prefers smaller schools.

End scene.

So did I act correctly? What could I have done to do better? What would you have done if you were tested in the same manner?
