Bit of backstory: It's been 10 months now since I last went blind. This was a very common occurrence for 2 years, sometimes several times a month.
I'm noticing piece by piece over this year I've been working with what I have, accepting what I don't anymore, and learning to change what I can.
To say the least it's been a slow as hell process.
I've been making it a habit to try and find new and old things that my body/brain DOESN'T accept anymore. Whether it doesn't want to process them or quite simply can't.
I'm trying to dig those up and process them as much as possible without putting myself into harms way, whether physically or mentally. Trust me, I hurt myself mentally the other day. Not a fun experience.
Here's a 3-tier list of things I can, can't, or possibly can handle right now.
Can: Walk across/down the street with headphones in both ears. This took several weeks of training with 1 headphone in at a time.
Can't: I can't go to the shooting range, the loud noises, and ear muffs bother my everything immensely. I nearly passed out from the experience. I pushed myself mentally too hard without realizing it.
Working on: Riding a bike/scooter/anything where I must force myself to balance while riding on. This is all about regaining a sense of where I am in reality proportional to how fast/what I am riding on. I ordered myself a e-scooter to help with this and will be forcing myself to ride it on side-streets and big open parking lots.
Do you guys know where I might find a list of challenging things I can try to do?
