Was at a casino/hotel late Friday night, having a drink with a buddy before last call and two decent enough looking women walk up right next to us at the bar. My buddy points this out to which I just tell him don't worry, this is already in the bag we're going to ignore them for now as we were actually having an important conversation but that we were no doubt leaving with them. I was right.

Finally the time comes and I turn to them and say hi, turns out they just came from a wedding and have a room in the hotel. Ffs... The four of us chat and make comfort. There's a blonde and a brunette, I could've went with either but I feel like the brunette is more into me. We all leave the casino together and they go to say bye to us but my freind says he left something says he'll be right back and runs away. I'm standing there with them thinking and I bring up smoking weed. The blonde was like I love smoking we should totally smoke so I said cool we'll go up to the room then.

Friend comes back, we go up to the room with them. Two bed suite, plenty big. Brunette and blonde each sit on a bed. I sat on the bed with brunette, friend is still standing. Blonde says she forgot her bag in her car and needs to get it. I tell my friend to go walk with her to get it. He doesn't act or take the lead. Eventually Brunette stands up and says I'll go get it for you. I stand up to go with her ticked at my friend because everything was set up for me and my girl to be alone in the suite with almost no effort. I think to myself, he better get the job done while we're gone.

Me and brunette are gone for at least 15 min, she walks up to the door when we get back and hesitantly (excitedly) looks at me, wondering whats going on inside, I motion for her to go in and we go in. My friend is breaking up weed on the couch while blonde is sitting on a chair. He got too caught up on the fact that we went up there to "smoke." I saw this coming. We smoke, talk, shit testing ensues, I see no point in any more effort and I say it's time to go as we weren't just going to hop in bed with them after virtually zero escalation.

Whoever stayed in the hotel room needed to escalate immediately, at least be close to each other flirting and touching bare minimum when the other couple got back so the tone was set. I needed this to be me for anyone to get laid that night. What could I have done differently in this situation? And can you do anything about a friend with bad game in general? He's actually gotten in my way a few other times lately. I guess I'm pretty good at taking control of a situation when I'm alone with a girl but I need tips on taking control of an entire group.
