I apologize if im kicking a dead horse here that has been explained to many times to count but I'm new here and I'm curious why does feminism wield so much influence in our society? It seems like lately feminism is exploding along with political correctness. Nearly every online dating profile says "im a feminist" and if your not a textbook definition of a feminist you are automatically labeled a misogynist and equivalent to some type of supremacy group. First off what I think is implied by feminism is not "equal opportunity" but rather female supremacy. "Put me on the pedestal or be shamed and admonished." So I get this part of the mens right movement. I do not hate women I just don't feel that they should get to have their cake and eat it too. Not a lot of women wanting to go climb around in hot attics in the middle of the Summer installing air conditioning but they damn sure want the perks of being a man just not the parts of manliness that really suck. So my question: I understand the objectives of feminist. What I don't understand is why its exploding and no public figures seem to be taking a stance against feminism? You very much get the sense that you better not utter a word louder than under your breath against feminism or be ridiculed, lose you job, be publicly ousted etc. There has to be money involved or some kind of influencing factor. I watched to ball drop last night and a female host showed her female empowerment shirt on tv. I said I bet $1000 dollars the male host agrees. Not only did he agree but went on about the injustices in the "Me too" movement etc. Im just curious why and how feminist are wielding so much influence in our society with seemingly no resistance except you guys. Is it because they vote? is it because women are the primary consumers of good and services in our society? Society has always told us bullshit but this one i'm having a hard time nailing down the underlying reason or motives of the media, politicians and corporations that are jumping on board for female empowerment. A majority of women have it very good in this world especially if they are physically attractive. It seems like society is trying to turn women into men and men into women.
