I live on a farm so I work whenever the hell I want for my parents. That being said between school and being a lazy ass i work maybe 30 hours a month. Really just here and there on the weekends. I’m looking to get into some crafts (blacksmithing, woodworking, and leather-working) should I invest in decent quality tools and try to open up that field as a potential job or keep it cheap and simple.

In terms of investing I have a connection who could at least do a consult for me (potentially for free). While that may be a good place to start I also feel like I should get my hands dirty to start. Crypto is another thing I’m interested in but would like to hear the general consensus on it before I dive in.

As for jobs, I’m a sophomore so I have time but the sooner I make up my mind the better so I can start networking and getting a head start in that field. I like the idea of artificial intelligence so programming is definitely one option. My other interest is philosophy and ethics. With crispr (gene editing) becoming more prominent I believe that we are going to have a hell of a lot of ethical problems on our hands. The combination of the two might also be useful. Ai has a fuckton of ethical and philosophical problems as well as crispr (minor in bio)?

The other option is doing a trade and saying fuck school. Honestly fuck debt and I don’t want to be living pay check to paycheck. Not to mention the liberal hell hole that is university. I haven’t researched it but artisan blacksmiths and leather workers most likely (correct me if I’m wrong) make decent money. Listening to some decent country and doing that kinda work sounds really appealing. Also metal work is satisfying as hell.

Ultimately what should I do with my current money, what should I do with my future money, and how should I get money. And the original intention of this post... any good books I should read.
