My grandfather told me that if there is a receptionist or secretary that you need to rely on, always get her small gifts and be courteous and friendly so she processes your paper work first.

Never show up empty handed always bring a gift. If someone has a kid bring the kid a gift too.

The most valuable thing a man has is his people.

He also told me that Cuban women are really hot and they found his white naval officer uniform sexy in the 60's.

So true. My eldest’s football team has made it to her Grand Final. Instinctively I’ve already bought some bottles of my favourite red for her coaches and player manager.

Costs me next to nothing and buys me social equity for next season. Play the long game.

A couple my grandfather told me:

It’s not about how much money you make but what you do with it.
If you’re going to settle down with a woman you need to be a team.
Children need their mother at home.
They make it (beer) faster than you can drink it, so slow down.

My grandfather died two months ago. He was the most stoic and collected man that I have ever known.

“ Suck it up” , basically when I had some issues (family, relationship etc). He only said this and at the time I didn’t realize how his simple advice was the best one. Whatever happens is life, move the fuck on. I was so frustrated when he only said this and I expected more “ compassion “ from Him. Now I know that in life everything depends on your mentality. In bad situations I imagine that its a training ground ( for your mental strenght ) and you are a soldier. Eventually if i “ suck it up” and I complete the course I will come out stronger. Don’t waste time bitching about the shithole that you are currently in. If you don’t have a shovel to dig your way out use your bare hands.
