I'm sure you all have seen this sort of question a thousand times before, but I'd appreciate the help if you don't mind. I have a fairly solid profile, decent pictures, lots of matches to verify that. But I seem totally inept at getting beyond the first few messages with a girl. I've probably messaged around 20 girls so far, but I've only gotten one phone number, and every other interaction has fizzled out very quickly. Usually it's the girl who doesn't respond, sometimes I won't if I can see it's going nowhere.

I don't know if its just me, but the vast majority of these females are either extremely dull people, extremely lazy, or they simply don't care. I've used some (at least I thought so) pretty solid openers that usually always elicit a response, but after that we're invariably dead in the water. Almost every girl replies with generic, short responses that make it almost impossible to build rapport. How are we supposed to have a "conversation" like this? I can throw out as many quips as I want, but nothing seems to take.

I'm sure plenty of you guys are experienced with tinder, could you help a brother out?

Me: "Just kidding, I'm sure you're more of a pro at it than I am"

...... No response
