Just DGAF about it and own it. Listen to whatever kind of music you want and don't be a pussy about it. You would probably be happier in the big city where there are tons of other people who share the same interests.

If you go to a high school in a small town, you maybe benefit from your 'mainstream' image, but once you are out in the world you would be better off doing the stuff that you are actually interested in, just as long as it isn't taking over your whole life.

If you think the crowd you're hanging with isn't in to something you are into don't bring it up, simple as that. No need to drop anything you are into because people might think it's weird; if you are an adult you can do whatever you want but just don't expect people at the bar to think you're cool if your date is a Japanese body pillow. I'd say it's more common than you think for other black guys to be into similar things as you, I've literally never met a black dude (around my age, mid 20's) who didn't love DragonBall Z when he was younger and still probably does.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess your black, judging by your post. As far as hiding yourself, in terms of what you enjoy doing. I would try and either slowly find like minded people who feel the same as you do about your interests. Now im not saying drop your whole social circle but find people who you can talk about things you do enjoy ie "white things". As far as hiding what you like from people you hang with, I would say that in the long term is detrimental to your mental well being. eventually you might see yourself as an outcast or someone who has nothing to contribute to the group.
