From a hypergamy standpoint, this doesn't make sense to me.

Hot girls dating average, and sometimes even disgusting looking dudes, with no money or status. While they might have game, it's clear they're not the very best option available.

At some point, at least one high value male has approached those girls and potentially opened the door for commitment too. I've experienced this myself, and seen it in social circles multiple times as well.

How can this be explained?
