How can I be more nonchalant?

For starters, look at yourself as if you were in third person. Last year, i had this great job at this construction site. My two friends in the job, all my age, 20, were always all over this cool guy Bill, hes a little older than us, 27.

Well anyway yea, hes just fun dude, great story teller, whatever. But watching my two friends always try to get this guys attention taught me a lot. Bill liked to call them his flies, as in sometimes theyre pesky

So i made sure i wasnt like them, pesky. Bill ended up admitting to me that i was the only one out of us 3, that he enjoyed talking to and could have a genuine conversation with. It meant a lot to me at the time.

You kinda gotta take that same approach but with yourself. Like imagine you watched a guy do what you were about to do or say what you were about to say?

Edit: random thought but also dont try so hard. I hate people who feel they need to be funny and say some corny shit. Better to say nothing at all than to make urself sound like a dumbass.

Tldr: think before you do i guess

How do you appear? Are you tall? Do you lift? People who appear in shape and and have a more “alpha” physique demand more respect then someone else. If you don’t have either of these, I would say to start lifting, but also think about how you differentiate yourself. It seems like you differentiate based on doing extra work. The worst person is somebody who does extra work and expects things in return. Do the extra work because you want to be the best at what you do. Being confident in yourself (in your frame, mental capacity, and work ethic) will help you to be more nonchalant simply because you truly stop caring about what others think.
