Hey guys, my problem is that I respect people too much even though it is not mutual or they disrespected me. I know I should not react when I get disrespected....

If a child walked up to you and interrupted your conversation to talk about the red ball he/she was holding, would you break off and talk to the child about the ball for more than a minute or two?No, you'd acknowledge that the ball is red/nice/bouncey/whatever then resume your adult conversation.

If a child called you a farthead, would you immediately take steps to convince that child of your lack of fartheadedness? Would you set upon a regimen of farthead reduction? No. You'd give an amused chuckle and go about your day.

If a child punched you in the leg would you punch back? No, you'd adopt a stern look, turn the child around, and gently shove him/her towards their family with a "Go stand over there"

You don't give more than a moment dealing with matters beneath you. Those that don't show the same respect given are beneath you.
