I recently started a new job, and work daily with an HB3. From day one she was extremely friendly and helpful and helped me transition smoothly into the job. Over the next few weeks we became good work friends but I had zero interest in her besides this. Soon after, she began throwing hints and subtly flirting with me, but I pretended I had no idea and kept things 100% work related or light and playful in a friendship manner. Through the course of this, I was never disrespectful or distant, and tried my best to be a good friend.
However recently she's become quite bitter about it, and this has happened in the past when i was a college student with other girls. While she is a great person to everybody else in the workplace, she now ignores me or does petty things like acknowledges other people except for me when entering the room.
I get screwed over and am the subject of this pettiness and grade school drama for simply being the object of her attention and not returning it, while every other dude who she wasn't romantically interested in still gets treated with respect, gets help etc.
It makes zero sense to me, but I feel like this is something I need to get better at dealing with.
Not to say I am some catch or anything, but I think maybe because I am an average dude, HB4 or lower girls get offended because a guy like me should be all over them and then I end up getting dragged into nonsense like this. Help is appreciated guys!
