As the title may imply, I went shopping with my LTR earlier this week and about half way through I realised I was carrying the basket. I said "right, now it's your turn" in a humorous way and let her struggle with it for a little bit (and it was fairly heavy - she was struggling). I joked and said next time we're definitely getting two baskets - she can carry her own stuff.

The reason I've chosen now to bring this up is because I have just come across this snippet from The Rational Male

In fact to be a “Man” has become synonymous with living up to a feminine imperative that’s cleverly disguised as masculine Honor

along with the fact that she said "You're the one who goes to the gym and everything!" which is clearly playing to a sense of honour, even if she doesn't realise this whatsoever.

And so I'd like to get some thoughts on the general concept of playing into the feminized reconstruction of what it means "to be a man" in some small day-to-day situations.
