Whenever I’m shamed by other people, I default into a quivering beta bitch. I lose control over my emotions, I turn submissive, red, and display all kinds of awful weak body language.
If any of you have read Eckhart Tolle, he describes this as a pain body. I believe RSD Tyler has described he reacts to social shaming in a similar way
How do I purge this pain body out of me? I understand to some degree I’m socialized like any normal human. However, on any little thing where I’m shamed, and I feel like society is rejecting me, I default into a complete pussy. What’s worse is I don’t want to let people see I’m becoming a bitch, which backfires and makes me even more of one.
Tolle says to observe the feeling and allow it. I’ve been practicing mindfulness meditation for 20 minutes a day, as well as trying to stay mindful throughout the day. But in the moment, when I’m shamed it all goes to shit. Hell, they don’t even have to be right. They could be wrong, shame me for it and I’d STILL feel bad.
I try my best to not give a fuck, but I fail consistently. What are steps I can take to truly reach DGAF mentality? I’m talking specifically about the moment the shaming happens, how can I train myself to react better?
I know I can do stuff before this happens, like diet, lifting, finding mission, sorting myself out, etc. I’m working on these things, but I’m open to hearing any advice.
I get that if I’m a respectable man (jacked/dominant/social), then I most likely wouldn’t incur such disrespect or shaming. But I know it’s going to happen regardless, and a respectable would not back down in the face of social shame.
