Before I get into it, just note that this post does not directly relate to sexual strategy, but it relates to my mission and my self-confidence so I figure TRP would be an appropriate place to ask for advice.
So currently I'm a junior studying computer science. I'd say I'm decently smart; smart enough that I managed to get a good GPA without putting in a ton of work nor feeling super overwhelmed at any point in college thus far. However, right now I'm taking "Algorithms," which is one of the harder courses of the CS major. I know I can probably just coast by, looking up answers for homework assignments, relying on curves and test corrections for tests (I have a lenient professor), but the fact that Algorithms is such a foundational course for all things computer science makes me inclined not do so.
However, I shy away from hard work. In Algorithms, there are many proofs, formulas and concepts that are very math-based and require time and persistence to figure out. I've put myself in a bad place by developing the poor habit of simply looking up answers and only understanding them well enough to change them so that its not obvious I looked them up. But now that I really want to learn this material, I'm stuck. Due to my poor habit of cheating (or perhaps more accurately, my habit of impatience and lack of persistence) I freeze up when it gets hard. I procrastinate by doing work for easier courses. I just put it off. I know I'll still graduate and get a decent job even without getting it all down pat, but I know it's not the right thing to do and that I am doing myself a disservice in the long run by neglecting the work.
So, TRP: any advice for buckling down and grinding through work that involves me relearning many concepts I neglected in the past as well as experiencing significant frustration? My brain just fogs up and I cannot bring myself to push hard to understand these concepts no matter how much I know I should.
